Cheri has challenged this week with descent. Waterfalls are a great example of the concept. His post addresses the challenge with a series of photos taken of Whatcom Creek as it runs through Whatcom Falls Park in Bellingham WA. It can also serve as a post for Ailsa’s Travel Theme Autumn as the leaves were turning.
Edges are cool and can be beautiful or even scary. Here is a shot of some edgy mountains on the edge of the sea.
Ailsa has brought foward the color orange for the travel theme. Here are a few of my favorite orange photos – sunsets and flowers.
Ailspm at “Where’s My Backpack” has a travel theme challenge of purple. Here is a varied group of purples:
For this week’s Travel Theme of Metal, I offer this hunk of rusting metal in the form of an antique steam tractor. I found this on a recent trip to Eastern Washington State along Interstate 90. I think I used this before but it sure fits the theme.

Jennifer challenges pink this week. That’s great because I have pink all over my neighborhood in the form of rhododendrons. This is sort of a double post as I also used some of these in Cee’s blossom challenge.
Others are from my pink archives of all sorts of photos.
Ailsa is looking for blossoms this week. It is Rhododendron time in the Pacific Northwest. Here is a sample of some that are in my immediate neighborhood. I took these on evening walks. These are real blossoms, some are Rhodies and some are their cousins, azaleas. I love them all.
