I am a retired academic professor and administrator living in the Bellingham, WA – the far northwest of “lower 48.” I enjoy our area with its mountains to the sea and the San Juan island archipelago with its abundant flora and fauna. We also spend time with our yard, our children, and grandchildren. I write about this area and about social, psychological, and political topics.

The Pacific Northwest has many attractions, one of largest of which is that it sits on the Salish Sea (formerly Puget Sound and points north). Bellingham sits on Bellingham Bay and the photo shows where I moor my boat in Squalicum Marina. The port keeps  the marina in full color all summer.
